Carlyle purchased the entire area from Vasakronan in 2012. Carlyle has developed the area and earlier divested some part. They are now selling the remaining commercial parts to Alecta.

The deal encompasses 110,000 sqm leasable area and approximately 300 commercial tenants.

The properties include mainly office spaces, hotels, public buildings and educational facilities. Alecta gained access to the properties on January 11th 2017.

There is a plan to create approximately 1,500 new apartments in Nacka Strand, which in turn means further investments in service and communications in the next few years.

“We are very happy about the acquisitions of the commercial parts of Nacka Strand. Nacka Strand with their diversified tenant structure and good development possibilities makes the deal interesting for us. Nacka is one of Sweden’s fastest growing municipalities and the decision to extend the subway to Nacka Centre of course gives the area even more attraction in the long run. The facility demand is high and the establishment of Stockholm Fashion District with 12,000 sqm facilities is an example of businesses that are now present in Nacka Strand. We see the investment in Nacka Strand as long term and we continue the development together with other investors in the area,” says Fredrik Palm, Property Manager at Alecta.

Falkenborn Advokatbyrå was Alecta’s legal advisor in the transaction.
