The City of Oulu has signed two 25-year leases. The Linnanmaa and Raksila fire stations will be environmentally friendly buildings and designed to prioritise safety. The buildings will be custom designed for the operations, which will include fire and ambulance services. The total floor space will amount to approximately 9,000 sqm.
“Winning this tender is a very significant step for Hemsö, and a natural continuation to our long-term operations in Finland and Oulu. In line with our strategy, we are looking to expand our project portfolio and our cooperation with Finnish municipalities. The City of Oulu is a great partner for us, and we are looking forward to working together to build these state-of-the-art fire stations,” says Jarkko Leinonen, Country Manager at Hemsö Finland.
“After the leases are signed, the development phase will begin, in which the City of Oulu and Hemsö will jointly prepare project plans for the construction permit and implementation phase,” says Eero Keränen, Project Manager at Oulu Premises Services.
Both the Linnanmaa and Raksila fire stations will be built as energy-efficient properties with great emphasis on sustainability, health and safety. The fire stations will be operated by the Oulu-Koillismaa department for rescue services.
