Technopolis Holding Corporation will sell its 60 percent holding in Technopolis Kuopio Oy to its current minority shareholder, KPY Sijoitus Oy (KPY). As a result of the acquisition, the business of Technopolis in Kuopio will be wholly owned by KPY. The purchase price will not be published.
Technopolis Kuopio properties have a total leasable area of nearly 70,000 sqm, and 17,000 sqm of new leasable space is under construction. Technopolis' Kuopio operations personnel will be transferred to Technopolis Kuopio Oy.
Technopolis acquired the Kuopio Technology Center Teknia in 2008. Today, approximately 200 organizations and 12,000 people use the premises of Technopolis Kuopio.
“The strong growth of our Kuopio unit, the high occupancy rate and the diverse focus of our expertise are proof of our team's long-term and passionate work. The recent transaction shows that demand for high-quality and well-managed properties will continue to be strong outside the Helsinki metropolitan area," says Sami Laine, Interim CEO at Technopolis.
