Sofia Ljungdahl comes most recently from the role of regional manager for Uppsala at Besqab where she was also a member of the Group Management. She has a long background in housing development with senior positions at Rikshem, Peab and JM. Sofia will be a member of the management team for the OBOS housing development division. She will take up her new position in August 2020 and will have her base at Obos Stockholm office.

"Obos is at an important and exciting stage where we are now seriously entering Sweden's three metropolitan regions. For this, we need a business-driven person with good leadership qualities and who shares our values. In addition, solid experience of complex large housing development projects is required. I am therefore very pleased to be able to present Sofia Ljungdahl today, who will lead our important metropolitan venture in Sweden,” says Obos' CEO Daniel Kjørberg Siraj.

Obos is already one of the major housing developers in Sweden today. In 2019, OBOS completed 1,557 homes on the Swedish market and had 1,494 homes under production at year-end. Obos has recently announced several major projects in, for example, Stockholm with new land directions at Kolkajen in the Northern Djurgårdsstaden and the Årsta field.

"I have followed Obos and have been impressed by what they have achieved so far in both Norway and Sweden. OBOS are unique in that they are member-owned and at the same time very business-like where they, with their strong financial position, act long-term. The way OBOS Nye Heim works, which has contributed to Obos' success in Norway, has great potential in Sweden's metropolitan regions," says Sofia Ljungdahl in a statement.

Obos' new subsidiaries for the big cities complement the existing Swedish operations, which already today have a strong position around Sweden, mainly in medium-sized cities and university cities. The new subsidiary will operate in parallel with the subsidiaries OBOS Kärnhem and OBOS Sweden, where Myresjöhus and Smålandsvillan are included.
