The new, 15,000 sqm logistics terminal will house all the terminal operations of PostNord in the capital region. The Vantaa terminal is part of PostNord’s network strategy of having its own terminals in locations that are strategic for domestic traffic, imports and exports: Vantaa, Turku and Tampere.
“E-commerce continues its strong growth in Finland, and PostNord is investing in terminal infrastructure in order to meet the growing volumes of parcels and the increasing consumer expectations regarding smooth deliveries. Our plan is to build a modern terminal that uses automation efficiently to support our business and promotes the achievement of our growth and responsibility targets,” says Jani Ståhlhammar, Chief Operating Office at PostNord.
The construction of the logistics centre in Hakkila will start in autumn 2021, and it will be completed in autumn 2022. The property will apply for LEED Silver environmental certification.
