Bonava has signed an agreement with the property company K2A Knaust & Andersson Fastigheter AB (publ) regarding the sale of a rental housing project in Umeå. The project comprises 83 Nordic Swan ecolabelled rental apartments across a total lettable area of approximately 3,850 square metres. The transaction amounts to SEK 158 M and is conditional on the issue of a building permit and the transfer of ownership, which is expected to take place in November 2021. The housing units are expected to be handed over to the customer and recognised in profit in the second quarter of 2023.

"We are delighted that this transaction will give us the opportunity to build additional rental apartments in Umeå’s new Tomtebo gård residential area, where Bonava has been involved in the development process since the beginning. The neighbourhood is situated in an attractive location in close proximity to green spaces and nature," says Fredrik Hemborg, Business Unit President, Bonava.

The project is also expected to receive expanded investment support since the Primus neighbourhood will feature a high sustainability profile and low energy consumption. The design of the neighbourhood encourages social interaction and features several areas for activities and socialising. For example, the courtyard will equipped with ping-pong tables, basketball courts and an outdoor gym. The neighbourhood will also feature two smaller premises with co-working/co-studying spaces.

Bonava is planning to create a total of 350 housing units in the Tomtebo gård neighbourhood in several stages and with various types of tenure.
