The detail plan encompasses 47,000 sqm and also contains a hotel (21,000 sqm Cabinn hotel drawn by Dorte Mandrup), the two 16,000 sqm “Cacti towers” with 500 youth apartments and a great stretch that bund the city together.

“We are very happy to present our new project. Our vision to create a city department store close to the Copenhagen residents has come one step closer after our dialogue with Copenhagen’s municipality regarding a new detail plan” says Dennis Balslev, CEO at Ikea Denmark.

The department store could open in 2019 if everything goes according to plan.
