The project is named Kvarter 12 and is located in Veddesta, Järfälla Municipality. Kvarter 12 is the first of a total of seven blocks that form Nordr’s development of the new Veddestaden area.
“Nordr is delighted to start work on Kvarter 12. Veddestaden is Nordr’s part of Järfälla Municipality’s expansion of Barkarby, the largest urban transformation project in the Stockholm area. The cooperation with NCC has resulted in a first-rate product with a focus on living quality and sustainability,” says Marcus Tärnåsen, Project Manager Veddestaden, Nordr.
NCC’s assignment comprises the construction of approximately 170 new tenant-owner apartments. These will be distributed across one property block comprising eight stairwells. The apartments will range from studios to three-bedroom apartments and will be environmentally certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
“It is very exciting that NCC is a part of the largest urban transformation project in the Stockholm region – Veddestaden. The cooperation with Nordr began already during the system documentation planning process and has been very successful. Through our joint efforts, we have optimized the process, which has resulted in us being able to commence construction of the residential units already now,” says Henrik Landelius, Head of NCC Building Sweden.
Construction was started during the fourth quarter of 2021 and the project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2024.
The assignment is valued at a total of approximately SEK 300 million and will be registered among orders on a continuous basis in the NCC Building Sweden business area. SEK 178 million was registered in 2021 and SEK 118 million will be registered in 2022.
