The properties are located within the old mustard factory on Kungsgatan, in an area that in recent years has been converted into an attractive residential area only a five minute walk from the travel center. The project has been built in four stages, the last of which was completed in the spring of 2022.
“We are very happy to have succeeded in acquiring these surface and energy efficient properties from Slättö. The environmentally certified homes are located in a very central and popular area and will be an excellent complement to our existing housing portfolio,” says Erik Rydström, Fund Manager at Niam.
“From previously being the city's industrial center with brick houses and workshops, Kungsängen is now one of Uppsala's most vibrant and attractive residential areas with wide streets and lots of greenery. The mustard factory is another successful project that has now been completed and we feel both safe and happy to hand over the energy-efficient tenancies to Niam,” says Erik Dansbo, Investment Manager at Slättö.
In line with Niam's focus on sustainability, the project is environmentally certified according to Miljöbyggnad Silver.
Cederquist has been legal advisor to Niam, and Mannheimer Swartling and Nordanö have acted as advisor to Slättö in the transaction.
Niam accessed the apartments on 3 June.
