"The recruitment of Ali feels great. I am convinced that he will, among other things, contribute with his experience of proactively working for strong and positive customer relationships. Ali also has great experience and wise thoughts about collaborating with management, development, leasing and operation, which will help us when we now have to deepen the cooperation between our line units," says Caroline Arehult, CEO at Akademiska Hus.

Akademiska Hus has high climate goals and must be climate neutral in the entire value chain by the year 2035. To achieve the goal, the company works for a more efficient use of the existing property portfolio and does not see new construction as a first choice. As part of Akademiska Hus' sustainability work, the company is increasing its focus on circular processes, including by reusing materials with a high climate impact. In cases where Akademiska Hus builds new buildings, the company requires them to obtain Environmental Building Certificates according to level Gold and all major remodeling projects must be certified according to level Silver.

"It is with great joy and anticipation that I take on this exciting role. Akademiska Hus, with its size and social role, has a great responsibility to lead the way and show the way to climate-smart construction and management. It is a journey that has already begun with a clear and clear vision and I am convinced that Akademiska Hus will reach the goal with all the fine collective competence that exists in the company," says Ali Ranji.

With a real estate value of SEK 118 billion, Akademiska Hus is one of the country's largest real estate companies, which together with universities and colleges works to strengthen Sweden as a knowledge nation by building, developing and managing sustainable environments for education, research and innovation. The company is owned by the state and around 320,000 people study, research and work in buildings managed by Akademiska Hus.

Ali Ranji will take office on November 1, 2022.
