The expansion takes place through agreement on the acquisition of 31 properties with a total of 1,763 rental apartments at an agreed property value of SEK 2.8 billion. The properties in Halmstad is centrally located and includes 1,160 apartments and an ongoing project where 72 new apartments built. The stock in Eskilstuna includes 603 apartments, even those with a central location. The total existing lettable area is 119,100 square meters.

The deal is another step in Willhem's growth strategy to grow in the communities where the company is established today while also entering new markets.

- It's great that we are now growing so strongly in Mälardalen. Here we see the synergies with our operations in Vasteras, together with Eskilstuna will form a management area, said Willhem's CEO Mikael Granath. In Halmstad doubles we basically property portfolio. As a next step, we hope to start our new production both in Halmstad and Västerås.

The deal also passes Akelius staff in Halmstad and Eskilstuna to Willhem.

The acquisition is subject to customary antitrust clearance.

Completion is scheduled for the third 2017.
