Heimstaden Bostad's largest shareholders propose Helge Leiro Baastad as the new Chairperson of the Board and Rebecka Elkert as Folksam's board representative, replacing Casper von Koskull and Birgitta Stenmark, respectively.
Casper von Koskull, Chairperson of Heimstaden Bostad since 2020, has requested to step down due to the substantial time commitment required by his board assignment at Citigroup.
Baastad has two decades as CEO of the Nordic insurance and pension company Gjensidige Forsikring and holds a BA in Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics. He also chairs the Board for Bertel O. Steen and Kavli Holding AS.
Rebecka Elkert, Folksam Asset Management's Head of Alternative Investments, will replace Birgitta Stenmark as Folksam's representative on the Board. Elkert has extensive experience in asset management and sustainability investments.
The new board members will be elected at an extraordinary general meeting on 28 June 2023 and expected to assume their positions by August
Helge Leiro Baastad comments:
I am excited to join Heimstaden Bostad's Board and competent governance team. We anticipate high demand for rental housing due to limited supply in Europe and will continue to provide Friendly Homes to over 300,000 customers in nine countries through our advanced operational platform.
Casper von Koskull comments:
I'm grateful to Heimstaden Bostad for an amazing three-year journey with strong results, commitment to customers, climate, and social responsibility. I'm confident the company will remain the industry's top residential real estate company, and I look forward to observing their continued success.
CEO Helge Krogsbøl comments:
We look forward to welcome Helge and Rebecka to our Board, together they bring extensive experience in financing, sustainability, and corporate governance.
