The property was completed in 1918 and is close to the central station. Extensive development is underway in the area to create new workplaces and housing as well as opportunities for recreation, trade, service and culture.
"We are very pleased to acquire this beautiful and unique property in such an attractive location in central Gothenburg. There has been a school here for a hundred years and we plan to continue in the same spirit. The city has a great need for school places and now we have possibility to add either upper secondary or upper secondary school places, something that will benefit the citizens of Gothenburg," says Hanna Tengberg, project developer at Hemsö.
"ABF's board is very pleased that Hemsö has chosen to buy this solid property which is in good condition. Hemsö is a stable and long-term owner of community properties and we are happy that school activities will continue to be conducted in the building," says Conny Petterson, student ombudsman at ABF in Gothenburg.
Hemsö will now start talks with potential tenants. The ambition is for the business to start as soon as possible.
Access to the property will take place at the beginning of 2024. Advisers in the transaction were A&P Fastighetstransaktioner.
