The measure in Norr means that about 50 positions are affected and that approximately 15 positions are terminated, the company announces in a press release.

The restructuring means that Serneke concentrates its contracting activities on markets and geographies where the best conditions for profitability and stability are provided to build a long-term strength. The restructuring is done in two stages:

Serneke's local offices in Luleå and Umeå are being closed down. Serneke completes ongoing projects in northern Sweden (Umeå, Luleå, Pajala and Kiruna). Operations in Sundsvall are transferred to region East.

Operations in Värmland are sold to the construction group T3. Other operations in region Mitt (Örebro and Dalarna) are transferred to region East.

"This is completely in accordance with our strategic plan to create long-term strength and efficiency in our contracting business. By implementing these changes, we reduce our risks and create great opportunities for long-term profitability through continuity and stability," says Mikael Hultkvist.

The action in Norr means that around 50 services are affected, including Sundsvall. About 15 positions are being made redundant, these are linked to projects in Umeå, Luleå, Pajala and Kiruna. About 40 positions are affected by the restructuring in Region Mitt. All employees in Värmland are further offered employment with the buyer T3 with unchanged terms of employment.

"Through the transfer of the operations in Värmland, we are taking responsibility for creating the conditions for good continuity towards projects, customers and staff in Värmland," concludes Mikael Hultqvist.
