Bjarke Mikkelsen has acquired an equity stake in Thylander and will take on the role of Managing Partner & CEO, succeeding Lars Thylander, who will once again assume the role of Chair of the Board.

Bjarke Mikkelsen is 43 years old and has an impressive career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in London, and as the founder of the e-commerce company Daraz in South and Southeast Asia, which he sold to Alibaba in 2018. Over the past five years, he has been based in Singapore, where he has established Daraz as one of the fastest-growing companies in Alibaba's global ecosystem.

"After an amazing journey with Alibaba and 17 years abroad, my family and I have moved back to Denmark. Over the past year I have considered a wide range of opportunities for my next chapter and Thylander is in a class of its own with the best team and the best returns in the real estate industry. Lars and the team have built a unique platform, and combined with my experience in technology and scale-ups, we can accelerate the strategy, build on the exceptional track record, and work with the latest technologies to develop the real estate industry - not least in terms of sustainability," says Bjarke Mikkelsen.

"Bjarke has a track record of extraordinary performance, and we share both visions and values. The core of our success has always been our team and our ability to deliver market-leading returns to investors. We will continue to focus on delivering the best returns in the industry, but with a focus on selectively expanding our business areas. I really look forward to the collaboration with Bjarke," says Lars Thylander.
