NCC has signed an agreement for extensive refurbishment, rebuilding and extension of the Falkoner Center, which comprises a hotel, conference center and retail.
“The Falkoner Center is to be revitalized to offer new experiences for residents of Copenhagen. At the same time, we want to help reduce the building’s energy consumption and improve its indoor climate,” says Palle Bjerre Rasmussen, Head of NCC Building Denmark.
The building’s total floor space is currently nearly 30,000 square meters, divided between a hotel, retail and offices for leasing. NCC will refurbish, rebuild and extend the center. The number of hotel rooms will increase from 166 to 334. The lobby and restaurant will be opened up toward Falkoner Allé. Conference rooms and a concert hall adjacent to the hotel will be modernized to a completely new standard with new technology. Three smaller stores will be built on the corner between Sylows Allé and Falkoner Allé. The building’s façade will also be renewed.
“The development of new construction engineering is one important step in our goal to drive developments toward more sustainable production,” says Palle Bjerre Rasmussen.
The refurbishment is expected to be complete in June 2019. The order will be registered in the third quarter of 2017 in the NCC Building business area.
