Länsförsäkringar Skåne moved in to the six top floors of Gängtappen in 2016 and currently has 250 employees in premises of 5,200 square meters. The long-term plan is for another 90 employees from central functions to move in to the building.

“It’s gratifying that Länsförsäkringar appreciates Dockan’s unique qualities and wants to locate its headquarters here. Länsförsäkringar Skåne has decided that it wants to own the property where it has its headquarters. To make it possible for the company to continue to grow, we have signed a sales agreement. The property is fully developed and we welcome Länsförsäkringar as a long-term, engaged property owner in Dockan. For Wihlborgs, the sale also frees up capital that we can continue to invest in the region,” says Ulrika Hallengren, CEO of Wihlborgs.

“We are very pleased with the acquisition of this historic property. We are experiencing strong growth, and this opens up new opportunities to gradually co-locate large portions of our joint functions in a building that meets the needs of our operations. Malmö is southern Sweden’s insurance centre and digital hub. A location in Malmö creates the strategic conditions for us to further strengthen the customer experience and recruit talent. We look forward to the continued sustainable development of the property, and to contribute to the development of Malmö and the Dockan neighbourhood in close cooperation with Wihlborgs,” says Susanne Bäsk, President of Länsförsäkringar Skåne.

Gängtappen 1 comprises a lettable area of 14,400 square meters and is fully let. The sale was conducted in corporate form for a consideration of SEK 720 million. The rental value is approximately SEK 40 million and ownership will be transferred on 1 December 2019.
