Before the summer, KLP Eiendom announced the acquisition of Visma's new head office in Denmark E. C. Hansen Hus in Carlsberg Byen, and in November KLP Eiendom bought the office property Weidekampsgade 12-16. With the three purchases, in 2019 KLP Eiendom has invested almost 3,200 MDKK in Copenhagen in addition to construction projects under its own management.
"We have had an ambition to increase our Danish property portfolio, and are very pleased to complete our third major Danish transaction this year," says Gunnar Gjärtz, CEO of KLP Eiendom.
Weidekampsgade 6 is an office property built in 2005. The property is located in an attractive and well-established office environment on Islands Brygge with KLP Eiendom's recently acquired office property in Weidekampsgade 12-16, Radisson BLU Scandinavia Hotel, the union HK and Kommunernes Landsforening as neighbors. The building has a good and visible location on Islands Brygge with fine exposure to the important approach road Amager Boulevard.
The property is spread over six floors, plus two basements, and has a rental area of approx. 38,000 sqm. It is fully leased with Deloitte as sole tenant. The property value of the transaction is DKK 1,400 million (MDKK). The acquisition will take place on December 20.
"With this acquisition, we secure our second large and modern office property at Islands Brygge in a short time, says CEO Søren Risager-Hansen of KLP Ejendomme. - KLP Real Estate has long had a desire to increase exposure in City and with the two attractive properties in Weidekampsgade, both suitable as multi-user properties, we complement our other office properties in Copenhagen's urban development areas in a good way."
"It is my assessment that from 2021, when we inaugurate our new office property in Ørestad, which is under construction at Kay Fiskers Plads, KLP Ejendomme will be the largest provider of newer, efficient and flexible office facilities in Copenhagen," concludes Søren Risager-Hansen .
KLP Ejendomme was advised by Kromann Reumert in connection with the transaction, while the seller was advised by Colliers and Gorrissen Federspiel.
