The old police station located on Store Kongensgade 100 was built in 1968 among the street's historic mansions and stately properties. The police station has over time been known by most because it has stood out from the prominent facades of the street. Following Gefion Group's radical redevelopment of Store Kongensgade 100, the property's appearance has been completely changed and adapted to the street's fashionable style. The property's new copper-colored façade thus matches Store Kongensgade's other façades, while the new fully let homes and the SPAR supermarket help to bring life to this part of the street.

Ever since Gefion Group started renting out the 72 new city homes, there has been great interest in the rental homes. The property was therefore fully let as it was ready for occupancy. The central location is of course a major attraction, but property facilities such as common rooms and the large quiet courtyard with shared wooden terraces and seating areas, have further helped to make the rental homes sought after. Most rental homes also have their own balcony, which is completely unique for a city home. The ground floor is rented out to the SPAR supermarket chain, which has set up a very nice and exclusive supermarket with a delicatessen department, wine department and bakery.

“When we bought the old police station on Store Kongensgade 100, we were convinced that we could create a beautiful property that would dress the prominent street, and that we would be able to bring life to the property for the benefit of the new residents both in the property and in Frederiksstaden. When we walk past the property today and look at the finished result, we are really proud. The old and sad police station has become a bright spot in the street scene. There has been a rift and the housing and we could very quickly report fully let. We are pleased to sell such a unique and iconic property to abrdn plc, which we see as a very serious player and real estate investor,” says Thomas W. Færch, CEO, Gefion Group

Abrdn plc says:

“The location on the prominent street and the high quality of the property speak for themselves. We are confident that this property with high quality apartments and a supermarket will complete and help diversify our Aberdeen Property Nordic Fund In portfolio ”says Henry Bispinck MRICS, Fund Manager, Abrdn.

In the sale of Store Kongensgade 100, Gefion Group has been advised by CBRE and Bruun & Hjejle, while STAD has been responsible for letting the homes. abrdn has been advised by DEAS Asset Management, COWI, EY and DLA Piper.
