The deal is part of Alm Equity's strategy to become a pure company developer in the real estate sector. By converting the value of the building rights into ownership interests in a listed company, the underlying value of the asset is made visible. Alm Equity's building rights portfolio complements Aros Bostad's existing building rights portfolio in terms of both geography and product and includes just over 30 project opportunities in the Stockholm area.
A due diligence has been initiated and is expected to continue during the second quarter of 2022, after which a binding agreement will be signed. The intention is that access will be possible during the third quarter of 2022. Upon completion of the transaction, payment will be made through a non-cash issue, which means that Aros Bostad will have Alm Equity as the new major shareholder.
"This is the second major deal in a short time that clearly establishes Alm Equity's position as a company developer. We prove once again how we create and make visible value to our shareholders. Housing development is something we can basically do and we will be a committed and responsible owner who contributes to developing and growing Aros Bostad further," says Joakim Alm, CEO of Alm Equity.
"Through the addition of Alm Equity's project portfolio, we are taking another big step forward in our expansion plans and will be one of Greater Stockholm's largest players. Alm Equity is a very knowledgeable and experienced player in the Swedish housing market and would be a valuable addition as a new major player in the company," says Magnus Andersson, CEO of Aros Bostad.
Catella has acted as advisor in the transaction.
