With the aim of streamlining, modernising, and future-proofing the existing premises in a sustainable way, Areim and Sweco are working together to develop an attractive and modern office solution with a strong focus on reuse. The premises, which will be completed in 2027, play an important role in both Areim’s continued development of Tidningskvarteren and in Sweco’s stated ambition to be an attractive and engaging employer.

“We look forward to continuing to be part of the exciting Tidningskvarteren area in Stockholm. Sweco’s architects and engineers will be designing a new head office for us that will inspire and be at the forefront of sustainability, meeting both new and existing needs for collaboration and digital ways of working. Our business is driven by creating value for our customers, whether we choose to work from our offices or elsewhere. And in that, our physical offices become the natural place to build relationships, innovate, share knowledge, and collaborate, playing an important part of our brand and culture building”, says Ann-Louise Lökholm, President of Sweco Sweden.

”We are very pleased that Sweco has decided to continue developing in the property. Together with Sweco, we have designed a development of the property so that it will best support well-being as well as efficient ways of working. The potential of the area and the view on sustainability is something we share, and we look forward to our continued collaboration. The upgrade means that Sweco’s visibility increases while we open to welcome new tenants in this beautiful property”, says Jerker Victor, Head of Asset Management at Areim.

Tidningskvarteren is the name of the area around Trängkåren 6 (the “Sweco-building”) and Trängkåren 7 (“DN-skrapan” and “Tidningshuset”) located in Marieberg, Stockholm. Areim is developing a vibrant inclusive and open neighbourhood for those who live, work and spend time in the area. The development is based on circular urban planning that aims to renew without tearing down. The investment has so far resulted in a more natural connection between the properties, where several restaurants and a gym have opened their doors. At the request of residents in the area and office tenants, new activities are interspersed with recurring events. In the autumn, a new restaurant will open in Trängkåren 7, which will be open from early morning to late evening. All these initiatives aim to open up Tidningskvarteren and make it vibrant and safe to be in, all hours of the day.
