As part of the partnership between Starwood Capital and Strawberry, Strawberry Hospitality Group will continue to operate Comfort Hotel Vesterbro through a long-term lease. The transaction will therefore not involve changes for the employees at the hotel.

Starwood Capital's acquisition of Comfort Hotel Vesterbro is added to Starwood Real Estate Income Trust, Inc. ("SREIT"), a non-traded REIT managed by Starwood REIT Advisors, L.L.C., a subsidiary of Starwood Capital. For STREIT, the transaction represents the first European hotel property that they own, but which is operated by an external party.

This transaction also represents the first European hotel property owned by STREIT, but leased to an external party. Going forward, we want to make more similar investments in European hotel properties that we rent out," says Timothy Abram, Senior Vice President of Starwood Capital.
